It can be used as a solvent for cellulose esters and paints, as well as a diluent, quick drying enhancer, enamel coloring agent, and wood dyeing agent. It is also used as a solvent for nitrocellulose, resins, printing inks, wood coloring dyes, etc. It is also used as a detergent for automotive engines, fuel additives, glass cleaning agents, paint removers, polyvinyl acetate emulsifier additives, etc. In addition, it is also used to separate acetylene from acetylene, as well as in the manufacture of textile soaps, acetate cortisone, etc.  High boiling point solvents have the function of dissolving oils, fats, paraffin, dyes, camphor, as well as natural and synthetic resins such as pine resin, frankincense, Scientology, and cordyceps.
